Our AI Framework has been accepted at EDULEARN2026

We’re delighted to share that our abstract on the AiEd Certified Framework has been accepted for presentation at EDULEARN2026, an international education conference taking place in Palma, Spain. EDULEARN is a well‑established academic conference that brings together researchers, practitioners and policymakers to explore evidence‑informed approaches to innovation in education.

For schools and colleges navigating the fast‑moving world of generative AI, this matters. Acceptance at EDULEARN means the AiEdCertified Framework has met academic standards for relevance, rigour and contribution. It demonstrates that the framework is not simply a set of good ideas or a response to current trends, but a practice‑informed model grounded in research and real‑world implementation in English schools and colleges.

The paper focuses on a challenge many leaders recognise: how to move beyond ad‑hoc or reactive AI use towards a coherent, ethical and sustainable institutional approach. While much existing research concentrates on individual tools or classroom use, far less attention has been paid to whole‑organisation adoption. The AiEd Certified Framework addresses this gap by providing a structured, developmental approach across five interconnected areas: AI literacy, policies and ethics, tools and systems, digital pedagogy, and community and collaboration.

Crucially, the framework was developed through close collaboration between researchers and senior practitioners working in and alongside schools and colleges. The paper draws on early implementation evidence from institutions working through certification, highlighting how the framework supports joined‑up thinking, strengthens governance, and helps staff and leaders make confident, informed decisions about AI that are rooted in pedagogy rather than technology alone.

Strengthening trust and credibility

As an education charity, trust and transparency matter to us. Academic peer review provides an independent lens on our work and helps ensure that the standards we ask schools and colleges to meet are fair, robust and well‑founded. Publishing and presenting this research makes our thinking open to scrutiny, debate and future improvement, while giving leaders confidence that the framework is credible, thoughtful and designed with the realities of education in mind.

If you would like to find out more about the AiEd Certified Framework, explore how it supports whole‑institution planning for AI, or understand what certification looks like in practice, you can read more on our website or get in touch with the team. We’re always happy to support school and college leaders at whatever stage they are on their AI journey.
