Twinkl’s AI courses are aligned with UK teacher standards and delivered through an interactive platform that supports annotation, reflection and immediate classroom application. With a strong focus on ethics, safety and practical use, the training is designed to move quickly from understanding to implementation - so staff don’t just learn about AI, they use it with confidence in their day-to-day practice.

Endorsed by AI in Education, these courses offer exceptional value for money - with unlimited staff access for just £200 + VAT per school. Crucially, every member of staff who completes the training becomes an AiEd Certified Educator, giving schools a powerful way to build whole-staff capability and demonstrate their commitment to safe, effective AI use.

At Explorer level, some leaders and staff will have begun developing their AI literacy through training - see our endorsed training resources produced by Twinkl above. By Practitioner level, this should extend to the majority of staff, reflecting a more consistent and embedded approach across the organisation. We recognise that there are a wide range of ways to meet this expectation and remain flexible in how schools demonstrate this.

For those at an earlier stage, or looking for a clear starting point, the Department for Education offers a suite of free, UK-aligned training designed to build understanding, confidence and safe practice in the use of AI across schools and colleges.

The short course AI Literacy for teachers and school leaders covers the fundamentals of AI and AI Literacy, ethics, safety and teaching AI Literacy.

For those who want a wider view of AI while retaining an education focus. This resource features contributions from academics and students to provide a balanced view of AI's future in the classroom.

Three Spires Trust have developed an AI curriculum from Key Stage 2 to Post-16. This solution empowers learners to understand how AI works, how it is used and how to engage with it critically and responsibly.  

The DfE-funded Oak National Academy has created an AI lesson assistant, Aila, designed to help teachers plan lessons and create resources. This free AI tool uses UK curriculum aligned resources.
