Rada

Sixth Form Student at Wimbledon High School (GDST)

Back in the spring, it seemed that the media was wholly focused on generative AI, and the main concern for the education sector was that use of the technology would devalue homework and assessment. Wimbledon High School student Rada decided to put this to the test along with her Chemistry teacher, Mari, in a blind test of student vs student+ChatGPT homework. The outcome was fascinating, as you'll hear from Rada herself in her short video. It feels powerful to hear directly from young people in this discussion, and learning from one another, guided by educators, will help them develop a deeper understanding of the technology and its potential uses, as well as its significant limitations. At WHS we are exploring uses of AI which are consistent with our human-centred approach to all tech use - and the kind of dialogue between student and teacher here really is at the heart of our classroom culture.
