Harnessing the power of ChatGPT, AI was used to develop a revision lesson on price elasticity of demand, a key concept in A-level Business Studies. Utilising artificial intelligence created a dynamic learning experience that not only strengthens theoretical understanding but also provides real-world applications. This case study reveals how ChatGPT serves as a "Team Teacher," transforming planning, teaching, and assessment, while significantly reducing the teacher's workload.

Price elasticity of demand—a cornerstone of marketing theory—is often a challenging concept for A-level Business students. In response to a request for a revision lesson, ChatGPT was used to comprehensively cover every aspect of the learning process, from pre-assessment to evaluation.

Initial Assessment: Using ChatGPT, a 20-question multiple-choice quiz based on the marketing specification is generated. This quiz is uploaded to MS Forms and shared with students via Teams. Instant analysis highlights key misconceptions, setting the stage for focused learning.

Theoretical Framework: A worksheet summarising the theory of price elasticity is developed. ChatGPT also generates five questions and answers to test theoretical understanding.

Real-World Application: Further enriching the lesson, ChatGPT crafts two case studies illustrating the concept's application in real businesses—McDonald's and Netflix.

Assessment: Students then tackle an exam question. A model answer, produced by ChatGPT based on the mark scheme, provides a benchmark for evaluation.

Peer Review: Students assess their work against the ChatGPT model, identifying strengths and weaknesses.

The AI functions as both a planning assistant and a co-educator. It empowers the teacher to focus on tailoring the educational experience, making learning more personalised and adaptive.

The scenario in this case study is genuine and based upon real events and data, however its narration has been crafted by AI to uphold a standardised and clear format for readers.
